Valentine's Day is Right Around the Corner - Are You Prepared for the Biggest Day of your Life?

He drops to one knee and shows the beautiful ring to her. She says yes and a year’s worth of planning is under way before he can stand up. The location is picked, the gown is bought, all the family is invited and the flowers have been ordered. What is missing? The insurance policy! This is the one aspect of the wedding that is usually missing, yet could bring the biggest ease to any bride or groom’s mind.

The reasons are countless on why a wedding insurance policy should be purchased. Below is what could be covered on an insurance policy:

Cancellation or postponement

·        Severe weather makes the reception inaccessible

·        Sudden illness prevents the bride/groom or their parents from attending

·        The bride or groom is unexpectedly called to report for duty

Cancelled or postponed weddings could be costly. Having an insurance policy can provide coverage for loss of certain deposits for the wedding.

Additional Expense

·        The caterer calls and suddenly is unavailable for the wedding. If there is an insurance policy in place there could be coverage for certain unexpected expenses you have to incur in order to avoid a cancellation or postponement of the wedding.

Wedding photographs and video

·        Coverage from an insurance policy could reimburse you for the cost of reconvening the wedding party to take new photos or video if the photographer’s film is defective or negatives are lost or damaged.

Wedding Gifts

·        While at the reception something happens and the table with the gifts is damaged along with all of the gifts, this coverage could reimburse them for repair or replacement cost.

Special Attire

·        The bride gets off the plane but her dress does not and the airline cannot locate it, or if they do locate the dress but the single piece dress is in two pieces, having insurance could provide coverage to reimburse for a replacement dress.

Special Jewelry

·        The best man calls the groom the morning of the wedding and tells him that he can’t find the wedding rings; the groom could be at ease knowing there is wedding insurance in place. The policy could provide coverage if the bride’s or groom’s wedding band is lost or damaged.

Lost deposits

·        In today’s economy businesses are going bankrupt and going out of business daily.  A bride and groom can be at ease as they plan their wedding with a wedding insurance policy as it could reimburse the lost deposits on those vendors.

Liability Insurance

·        A guest slips and falls at the wedding reception; however, the newlyweds will know they have protection on their side with a policy that provides coverage for liability, property damage and personal injuries to third parties at the location of the ceremony and reception.

Liquor Liability Coverage

·        As we all know, many weddings have alcohol served at the reception. Coverage for alcohol related incidents may be covered by an insurance policy.

The number one reason to have a wedding insurance policy is the peace of mind the bride and groom may have leading up to the joyous day as well as be confident that during the day of their wedding they will have protection from anything that may take place.
